In ups and downs, this Mama kept smiling even when he was declared out. But behind the faded smile, there were some doubts about the future of BJP stalwart and longest serving chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Chouhan who was on Sunday replaced by his junior Mohan Yadav in a smooth transition of power.

Will Choahan be compensated at the centre after his exit from the CM’s office? May be or maybe not!

Nevertheless, the big change at the helm of the affairs in Madhya Pradesh came despite Choahan’s immense contributions in the BJP’s astonishing victory in the assembly elections through his ladli and other schemes. The alleged Vyapam scam was completely forgotten this time in the assembly election.

But despite all odds, the former chief Minister kept smiling and won the hearts of his countrymen by not showing any sign of dejection on his face. “I congratulate my hardworking friend,” said Chouhan smilingly to his successor Mohan Yadav, a cabinet minister in his government. As a gesture of goodwill, Yadav also went to Choahan’s home for seeking his blessings. “I will take forward the development works of Shivraj Singh ji,” Yadav said in a thanks-giving reply.

The BJP which had been battling close to 20 years of incumbency in the state won a resounding mandate bagging 163 seats while the Congress finished a distant second at 66. Ends
