My kites, my memories

Beauty is in the eye of beholder! What we can see at our backyard cannot be experienced at a faraway place even if it is England or Scotland.
Yesterday, we went to Rishikesh’s Triveni Ghat to experience some moments of joy and solitude thinking the place would be less crowded during the afternoon. As we sat on the stairs of the Triveni Ghat, I started enjoying the tranquil charm of the shimmering Ganga waters with the thick green forests providing excellent view in the backdrop. For the next one-two hours we forgot the worldly goods. I was just thinking how the Ma Ganga has been flowing eternally. How lucky we are that we live in Dehradun which is at a very short distance – may be one and a half hour drive from Rishikesh.
After sometime, what I saw was something mesmerizing. I couldn’t believe myself when a tusker suddenly appeared on the other side of the river to drink water from the river.
For nearly 10-15 minutes, the lone tusker continued drinking water. And then my heart with pleasure filled and started dancing with this splendid view. After quenching the thirst, the gajraj started taking bath, a view I enjoyed to the fullest. For the next few minutes, he kept playing with the Ganga water sprinkling water on his body.
After watching this wonderful view, we went to the Marine Drive along the Ganga. We encountered some breathtaking sight of hornbills. A hornbill couple was so romantically involved that they were virtually locking their beaks as a mark of love. Only problem came, I didn’t have a powerful camera. Anyhow, we made videos and took pictures from a Samsung mobile camera which is also good if not excellent.
