Uttarakhand on Thursday was all set to roll out red carpet for investors as the two day global summit begins on Friday in Dehradun which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ahead of the global investors summit which will be held at the campus of the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Chief Minister Pushakar Singh Dhami called for creating maximum jobs through sustainable development.
“The main purpose of the global summit is to create maximum jobs and achieve sustainable development by striking a balance between economy and ecology. This will help in realizing the dream of making Uttarakhand as a leading state,” Dhami said in a message.
Dhami’s assertion of striking a balance between economy and ecology assumes significance in the backdrop of a series of natural disasters such as the Kedarnath deluge plaguing the hill state.
This summit would also be an important step towards achieving the goal of India becoming a five trillion economy in future under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.
Dhami said the state government has already signed MoUs worth Rs 3 lakh crore ahead of the summit. The government would make efforts to bring all these MoUs. He said the single window system is the main attraction for the investors.
Dhami has already made several business trips to many cities such as Mumbai in India and London in England.
In the energy sector, Dhami said investment proposals worth Rs 40,423 crore were received by the state government. MoUs in this regard were also signed in the energy conclave. “In Uttarakhand, the state government is continuously working to scout for investments,” Dhami said. Already, 30 new policies have been put in place and several others have been made easier, he said. Ends
