With Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launching efforts to boost the winter tourism in Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) Managing Director Anil Yadav has issued necessary guidelines to all the regional units to ensure smooth power supply in the winter season especially in the tourist places.
The UPCL is trying its best to provide uninterrupted power supply in the main tourist places in the state such as Mussoorie, Auli, Lansdowne, Joshimath, Dhanaulti, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Chamoli, Chakrata, Rajaji National Park, Tehri, Devprayag, Chamba and Harshil well as the winter worship places of the four chardham shrines, Yadav said on Sunday.
The UPCL is monitoring the condition of all substations, HT/LT lines and street lights related to the tourist places on a daily basis so that all the tourists do not have to face any kind of electricity related problem and for emergency situations.
Arrangements are being made in such a way that in case of power disruption, power supply can be restored in a minimum possible time.
All the Superintending Engineers/Executive Engineers have also been directed to inspect the 33/11 KV substations and 11 KV feeders coming out of them under their area and to be present in high alert mode. Apart from this, for better power supply, instructions have also been given to get the lopping and chopping of trees and branches coming in the way of the lines done on time and to ensure that all trolley converters are in working condition and are available for any contingency.
