UJVN Board approves construction of 120 Mw Sarkaribhyoal Rupasiyabagh project

The Board of Directors of UJVN Ltd on Tuesday approved various packages of civil and hydro mechanical works related to the construction of the proposed 120 MW Sarkaribhyoal Rupasiyabagar Hydroelectric Project on the Gori Ganga River in Munsiyari area of Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand.

The decision to the effect was taken at the 123rd meeting of the Board of Directors of UJVNL Ltd in Dehradun which was chaired by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi.

UJVN Ltd Managing Director Dr Sandeep Singhal said the approval has also been given by the Board for the third phase of the dam rehabilitation and improvement project being run with the assistance of Central Water Commission and the World Bank. Under this, the remaining work is to be done on Ichhari and Maneri dams as well as Dakpathar, Asan, Virbhadra and Joshiyara barrages.

Dr. Singhal further informed that the Board has also approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the works of Renovation, Modernization & Up-Gradation of 30 MW Kulhal Hydroelectric Project.

Apart from this, the Board has also approved the business plan of the corporation for the next three years and has also approved the tariff plan for 11 major projects till the year 2028.

Dr. Singhal further informed that taking a decision in the interest of the employees, the Board has also approved the proposal for increase in the rates of Special Energy Allowance and Night Shift Allowance for the personnel outsourced through UPANAL in UJVN Limited.

The Chief Secretary, Secretary Energy, Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Independent Directors Indu Kumar Pande, B.P. Pandey, C.M. Vasudev, Parag Gupta and Rajkumar along with Managing Director UJVNL Limited Dr. Sandeep Singhal and full time directors Suresh Chandra Baluni and Vinay Mishra etc. participated.
