Udayan Shalini Fellowship camp for girl students

The importance of personal hygiene, staying fit through yoga and various other important health advices were given to girl students attending a residential camp organized under Udayan Shalini Fellowship programme.
On the second day of residential camp on Sunday, the resource persons gave valuable knowledge related to physical health to the girl students of Udayan Shalini Fellowship.
Various exercises including yoga asans and acupressure therapy were taught in the morning session by the experienced yogacharya Neetu Uniyal. Besides, on the occasion of World Health Day, health related information was also given to the girl students by various specialist doctors. Dr. Sarita Chaurasia, gynaecologist explained in detail about the problems faced by teenagers regarding menses, hygiene and other problems related to women’s health and their diagnosis and cure along with harmonal changes and other problems related to adolescent girls.
Dr. S.P. Gautam shared information on the causes and prevention of heart and other related diseases as well as diabetes, allergies etc.. Senior surgeon Dr. S.D. Saklani made the students aware about various types of cancer and other diseases affecting women as well as about keeping the body system and various organs healthy.
Vimal Dabral, coordinator of Udayan Shalini Fellowship, said that more than 70 girl students and coordinators of Dehradun and Haridwar chapters of the fellowship are participating in the camp.
Earlier, former National President of Institute of Engineers (India) and renowned engineer Narendra Singh Chauhan said that good education among girls is very important for the progress of the society. Famous fitness trainer and dietitian Rupa Soni gave the students information about balanced, healthy and nutritious diet and food items to stay healthy and also gave information about various physical exercises to keep them fit.
Those who participated in the camp include Varuna, Farha, Deepa and Simran etc.
