Day temperature rises by 4 degrees in Dehradun

Days after the heavy snowfall, the day temperature in Dehradun and other parts of Uttarakhand has started rising but the minimum is coming back to normal, the Met office said.

The maximum temperature rose to 25.5 degrees on Sunday with a departure of 4 degrees causing slightly warmth in the day in Dehradun.

The minimum temperature however recorded on Sunday in Dehradun was 8.3 which was considered normal, said Bikram Singh, the head of the Met office. The minimum temperature in the hills is also normal these days, he said.

The minimum temperature around 7-8 degree C in the plains is normal and 3-4 degrees is normal in the hills, said Singh.

Singh said the temperature is likely to rise by 1-2 degrees in the coming days as the weather will remain clear in the next 5-6 days in the state.

On Jan 31 and Feb 1, the higher reaches in the hill state have experienced heavy snowfall brining renewed chill in the weather conditions.
