Tanya’s husband held after encounter

Shubham Rajput, the husband of Tanya Chauhan who is under treatment at the Doon hospital in Dehradun after doctors removed a bullet from her head, was arrested early Sunday following an encounter with the police at Kuthalgate area in Dehradun.
Sub-Inspector Mithun Kumar also received bullet injuries when a police party went to Mussoorie to arrest Rajput who was hiding in a home-stay, Musoorie SHO Arvind Kumar said. After firing at the police, Rajput escaped from the homestay and was intercepted at Kuthalgate area where he tried to escape again early Sunday. During the ensuing encounter, Rajput received a bullet in his foot and was nabbed. He was also rushed to a hospital.
SI Kumar who received bullet in his belly is out of danger at Max Hospital after a surgery, a top police official said.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed concern over the incident and asked the SSP Dehradun Ajai to provide best medical care to the injured police official. Dhami also called for stern action against Rajput.
Earlier, Tanya was found lying in an unconscious condition at Thano Road area in Dehradun on Jan 13. She was rushed to the government Doon hospital where doctors removed a bullet from her head on Tuesday.
Tanya was identified by her sister Kavya Chauhan when she saw her pictures on social media.
Tanya, who was from Jawalapur locality in Haridwar, was married to Shubham Rajput in Sonipat in Haryana. Tanya is still not in a position to record her statement, SHO Raipur police station said.
Preliminary police inquiries revealed that Tanya’s husband and father in law were missing from their Sonipat home since last year. Ends
