Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) on Friday raced ahead to top the medal tally pushing Karnataka behind at second place in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.
In the last few days, the contest for the top has intensified between SSCB comprising Army, Air Force and Navy and Karnataka in the Uttarakhand National Games. SSCB, Karnataka and Maharashtra have showed remarkable performance so far in different events.
After remaining second during the last two days, SSCB won eight more golds to top the medal tally now bagging 66 medals including 39 golds.
Karnataka was at the second place winning 58 medals including 30 golds.
The hosts Uttarakhand moved to 11th place as it won three more gold medals. So far, Uttarakhand has won 49 medals with eight golds. Uttarakhand on Friday won ten more medals including three golds.
Maharashtra moved to third place winning a whopping 107 medals with 23 golds. Maharashtra is the only state which has touched three-figure mark in the medal tally.
Madhya Pradesh has also delivered commendable performance as it was placed at fourth position bagging 45 medals with 19 golds.
Haryana continued to remain on the fifth place winning 67 medals with 16 gold. Tamil Nadu remained stationed at sixth place bagging 49 medals with 13 golds.
Manipur was on seventh place winning 36 medals including 12 golds. Till Sunday, Manipur was on the top of the medal tally.
Meanwhile, Bihar and Gujarat, two big states have performed badly in the National Games. Gujarat was at 24th place bagging 16 medals including two golds.
On the other hand, Bihar which bagged only six medals with no gold moved further down to 30th place. The performance of Andhra Pradesh, another big state, was also not being appreciated in the National Games where it has won only ten medals including four golds and was placed at 18th place.
