SSCB again on top in National Games

In a see-saw battle, Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) moved to top pushing Karnataka to second place on Friday in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.

In the last few days, the contest for the top has intensified between SSCB comprising Army, Air Force and Navy and Karnataka in the Uttarakhand National Games. SSCB, Karnataka and Maharashtra have showed remarkable performance so far in different events.

After remaining second during the last two days, SSCB won couple of more golds to top the medal tally now bagging 56 medals including 31 golds.

Karnataka was at the second place winning 56 medals including 30 golds.

The hosts Uttarakhand moved to 14th place as it won one more gold medal. So far, Uttarakhand has won 39 medals with five golds.

Maharashtra moved to third place winning a whopping 94 medals with 19 golds.

Madhya Pradesh has also delivered commendable performance as it was placed at fourth position bagging 39 medals with 18 golds.

Haryana continued to remain on the fifth place winning 56 medals with 13 gold. Tamil Nadu remained stationed at sixth place bagging 47 medals with 12 golds.

Manipur was on seventh place winning 31 medals including 11 golds. Till Sunday, Manipur was on the top of the medal tally.

Meanwhile, Bihar and Gujarat, two big states have performed badly in the National Games. However, Gujarat slightly improved its performance by moving to 22nd place bagging 14 medals including two golds.

On the other hand, Bihar which bagged only six medals with no gold moved further down to 30th place. The performance of Andhra Pradesh, another big state, was also not being appreciated in the National Games where it has won only ten medals including four golds and was placed at 18th place.
