Six youths killed in high speed car crash in Doon

In a tragic accident, six people including three boys and three girls were killed and one injured when their speeding car rammed into a container at ONGC Chowk in Dehradun city early Tuesday.

The accident was so horrific that all the six youths, hailing from Dehradun, died on the spot and the car was reduced to a mangled heap, police said.

On receiving the information of the accident around 01.33 AM, a police team immediately rushed to the spot where the container and an Innova car were found in an accident condition. The car had collided with the rear part of the container. The Innova car was found completely damaged in which a total of seven people were travelling.

The injured person in critical condition was admitted to Synergy Hospital for treatment.

Prima facie, the accident appeared to have occurred due to over-speeding, police said.

The six youths who died in the accident have been identified as Guneet (female 19), Kunal Kukreja (male 23), Rishabh Jain (male 24), Navya Goyal (female 23), Atul Agarwal (male 24) and Kamakshi  Singhal (female 20).

  1. This is really very sad news. However, why were they speeding at 1:30 am in the city- just for fun I think and lost their lives after hitting a stationary container. Driving in India is a frightening experience because no one follows the rules of driving.
