Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) comprising Army, Air Force and Navy, has streaked far ahead in the gold medal race in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.
On Thursday (Feb 13), the SSCB was on the top of the medal tally as it won 66 golds leaving Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka and other competitors far behind. The SSCB has won 116 medals including 25 silver and 25 bronze medals.
Maharashtra on the other hand has won 177 medals but remained on the second position as it won 51 golds.
Haryana considerably improved its medal tally by moving up to third place. Haryana has so far won 140 medals with 39 golds.
After remaining on sixth place for a short time, the hosts Uttarakhand moved to 7th place even as it continued to win more medals. Uttarakhand has won a total of 99 medals including 23 golds, 34 silvers and 42 bronzes. On Feb 3, Uttarakhand was on 19th place.
Karnataka slipped to fourth place winning 78 medals including 33 golds.
Madhya Pradesh has also delivered commendable performance as it was placed at fifth position bagging 71 medals with 28 golds.
Manipur slipped further down to tenth place winning 52 medals including 14 golds. Earlier, Manipur was on the top of the medal tally.
