Series of tremors rock Kishtwar, Zanskar
A series earthquakes on Monday rocked union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladhak in India.
However, no loss of life and property was reported from any part of the regions. An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude hit Zanskar area in Ladakh around 3.48 pm, National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said. The earthquake was followed by yet another tremor which hit Kishtwar area at 4.01 pm with magnitude 4.8 in Jammu province.
Soon, a couple of aftershocks were also recorded in the two regions.
According to US Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake of 5.1 magnitude hit Padam area in Zanskar (ladakh) at around 4.01 pm. However, NCS did not report any such tremor in the area in this particular time. Ends
