An active Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to affect Northwest India from tomorrow and cause heavy rainfall and snowfall mainly in the higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next couple of days.
It is also likely to cause isolated to scattered rainfall over plains of northwest India during 26th to 28th February, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Due to the Western Disturbance, fairly widespread to moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning likely to occur over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh during 25th-28th; Uttarakhand during 26th-28th February, the IMD said.
Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall likely to occur over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh during 26th February to 01st March; over West Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan during 27th February-01st March and East Uttar Pradesh on 28th February & 01st March.
Thunderstorm and lightning activities are likely over Punjab & Haryana during 26th28th; north Rajasthan on 27th & 28th February.
