NABARD on Thursday said it has assessed a credit potential of Rs ₹54698 crore for Uttarakhand for the year 2025-26 which is 36 percent higher than the current year ACP (Annual Credit Plan) target of Rs 40158 crore.
Out of the total priority sector credit potential, farm credit comprises of Rs. 19309 crores, MSME Rs. 30478 crores and other priority sector Rs. 4916 crores, according to new State Focus Paper for the year 2025-26 prepared by NABARD which was released by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi at a seminar in Dehradun on Thursday.
The Chief Secretary thanked NABARD for playing an important role in the development of the state. She said the migration was one of the biggest issues in Uttarakhand and suggested that the state government can start initiatives in collaboration with NABARD and others to address the issue. On the lines of credit plans prepared for the districts, a district-wise development plan can also be made, which will help in overall development of the state, she said.
For infrastructure development, till 31 December 2024, NABARD has disbursed ₹10375 crore for a total of 5397 projects. From the financial year 2014-15 till now (31 December 2024), NABARD has provided a grant of ₹2695 lakh for the promotion of 136 farmer producer organizations (FPOs) in the state. NABARD is committed to improve the living standards of the tribal population of the state through a grant support of ₹20.99 crore for 4845 tribal families.
Focusing on women, NABARD imparted training to around 7800 Self Help Groups/joint liability groups members through 177 Training Programmes to empower women and create sustainable livelihood for them.
