Rajnath lays foundation stone of Ramdev’s gurukulum

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said India needs more gurukuls to protect its strong culture and heritage and called for providing modern education in these educational institutions.
“We need more such Gurukuls in new India to protect cultural heritage while providing modern education. The Government led by PM (Narendra) Modi is working towards cultural development that is beyond cultural preservation, so that future generations can be proud of the culture of the country, Singh said as he laid the foundation stone of Patanjali Gurukulam, one of the country’s largest educational institutions, in Haridwar in Uttarakhand along with a host of top leaders.
Accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Singh reached Jollygrant airport where he was received by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. They went straight to Haridwar to lay the foundation stone which coincided with the 29th foundation day of the Patanjali Yogpeeth headed by Baba Ramdev.
Baba Ramdev said he would invest Rs250 crore for the establishing the gurukulum and Rs 250 crore for building Swami Darshanand Gurukul University.
The seven-storeyed main block of the gurukulum institution will have the capacity to provide boarding facilities to 1,500 children. A separate Acharyakulam block can accommodate 5,000 day-boarding students.
All those who get more than 98 percent marks will get the education completely free, Ramdev said.
