Prof Dangwal calls for achieving goals of quality education

Doon University Vice Chancellor Prof Surekha Dangwal on Saturday called for achieving the goals of quality education.

Addressing the teachers and officials in a one-day workshop organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Doon University on the topic of ‘Quality Benchmark in Higher Education Institutions’, Prof Dangwal said to maintain the quality of teaching and research, it is necessary to have understanding and knowledge of all those parameters on which quality is judged.

She said today various dimensions of quality measurement are being used at national and international level, but till every teacher is not aware of those dimensions, it will not be possible to achieve the goal of quality of education, hence it is necessary that the teachers, employees and officials of the university discuss and brainstorm on the dimensions being used for measuring the quality of education from time to time.

Through this workshop, better options will be found to improve the quality of teaching method, examination-evaluation and research of the university. The Vice Chancellor said in the coming time, the National Accreditation Assessment Council (NAAC) is also changing the dimensions of NAAC evaluation, so we will have to change our working method and teaching method from time to time in accordance with such changes related to quality education, only then the goal of quality education can be achieved.

Addressing the workshop, Prof HC Purohit, Coordinator of the University Internal Quality assurance Cell (IQAC), elaborated on various aspects of bench marking prevalent for the quality of research and teaching in higher education.

Welcoming the guests, Prof R P Mamagai said that the university is constantly moving on the path of progressive progress in the field of teaching and research and we have to continue this pace in the same way so that our students keep getting benefited.

On this occasion, Prof Rajesh Kumar, Prof SS Suthar, Prof Gajendra Singh, Prof Ashish Kumar, Prof Harsh Dobhal, Prof Reena Singh, Dr Chetna Pokhriyal, Deputy Registrar Durgesh Dimri, Dr Arun Kumar, Dr. Narendra Rawal, Dr. Achalesh Davery, Dr. Prachi Pathak, Dr. Swati Bisht, Dr. Rajesh Bhatt, Dr. Charu and other teachers, officers and employees of the University were present.
