A two day training programme for the officers of the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) which was organized by the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) concluded on Wednesday in the headquarters in Dehradun on Grid Connected Roof Top Solar System under “PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme” .
This programme was organized under the aegis of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India in collaboration with the NPTI.
The training programme was attended by about 40 field staff and engineers of UPCL who are responsible for implementation of this scheme.
The program started with the representatives of NPTI, S.N. Pandey (Deputy Director) and Vijay Ratan and Executive Director (HR) Dr. R.J. Malik addressing the officers in the inaugural session.
The program was made effective in the presence of Chief Engineer Nodal Officer (Solar Cell) Ashish Arora as he motivated the officers by emphasizing on the SOP of UPCL for “PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme”. He informed that under the guidance and able leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, UPCL has currently installed a total of 8962 solar roof top plants of about 32 MW capacity at the homes of domestic category consumers across the state under the “PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme”.
Consumers are getting more and more benefits by joining the scheme, in which till date, the consumers who have installed solar roof top plants have also received subsidy of about Rs 73 crore. During the training program, solar energy experts from various organizations and departments shared the basic understanding of the project.
Before the conclusion of the program, the officials of NPTI were thanked all the participants.
UPCL has set a target of installing more than 40000 solar roof top plants for domestic category consumers across the state. Therefore, the respected consumers of the state are requested to participate in the scheme as much as possible and avail the benefits.
