All 3 bodies may be of a single family: police

Three bodies of a woman, a girl and a baby were found in Barowala area under Patel Nagar police station in Dehradun prompting the police to intensify efforts to identify them and solve the mystery, police said on Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun Ajai Singh said while two bodies were recovered on Tuesday evening, the third was found on Monday morning following complaints of local people about some foul smell coming from a dry drain.
According to police, two bodies – a young girl and a baby, were recovered on Tuesday evening in the dry drain. After a search operation, police on Wednesday morning recovered one more body of a woman from heap of waste near the drain.
The SSP said that after taking the bodies into custody, police has immediately launched efforts to identify them. Post-mortems of the bodies have been conducted.
Singh also visited Barowala and monitored the search operation launched by the police on the spot.
The SSP said there is no report of any family members missing in Dehradun and its surrounding areas. However, he said that the possibility of a family angle cannot be ruled out in the initial investigation indicating that all the three could belong to a single family.
The SSP said that in view of the sensitivity of the case, the police will continue investigations till the mystery is solved.
