A thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds has lashed many parts of north India since Wednesday evening.

From Jammu to Dehradun, many parts including Shimla experienced rains giving relief to the people from the heat wave conditions.

An intense western disturbance is likely to bring more rains coupled with gusty winds and lightning in parts of the north India in the next two days, a forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department said on Thursday. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and other nearby areas may experience rainfall in the next two days.

In the wake of the prevalence of the WD and trough, the heat wave conditions would also abate in Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Gujarat.

Some areas of Himahal Pradesh may witness hailstorm also.
