Amit Gautam (33) was taking bath when he was drowned

A man from New Delhi’s posh Punjabi Bagh area was drowned in the river Ganga on Monday at Laxman Jhula area near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, police said.
Amit Gautam (33) was taking a bath in the river along with his friends when he was suddenly swept away by the fast currents of the river. In no time, he was drowned in the river.
A search was launched by the SDRF team using deep diving techniques and brought out Gautam in a state of unconsciousness. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
The family members of Guatam have been informed about the incident. A postmortem of the body has also been carried out.
