Little angels celebrate dussehra

Effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhkaran went up in flames as dussehrara marking the symbolic victory of good over evil was celebrated in all over India with gaiety and enthusiasm on Saturday.

In Dehradun, the effigies of the three demons were burnt at number of places with the main function being held at Parade Ground. This year, the function was shifted to lower Parade Ground and the three effigies were not tall enough to be seen from Gandhi Park end. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with his cabinet colleagues was present at the function.

In Mohini Road of Dehradun, little children celebrated the festival with all funs. The children under the leadership of Saksham Rawat made a smart effigy of Ravan and burnt it with locality people cheering and clapping. “It was a great fun. We enjoyed a lot,” said Itika Rawat, a homemaker.  Urvika Prashant, Vaishnavi Badoni, Vihan Badoni, Yash Pant, Gauri Rautela and Vaibhavi Rawat participated in the dussehra function at Mohini Road.

  1. We should encourage creativity of young children. They have capacity to learn any new craft or technology within shortest period of time. In the same premises three years back children performed cultural activities like dance, drama and music. Good job. God bless them all.
