After Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas as lead role entered into Rs 1000 crore club, the Big B has expressed gratitude to all the people associated with the movie.
This is for the first time that a movie starring Big B who played the role of Ashwatthama has entered into this exclusive club.
“This is for me an achievement for Prabhas this may be routine because a lot of his films cross this Rs 1000 crore figure but for me I am truly indebted and grateful to have been made a part of this huge concept called Kalki. I really am falling short of words to express how much I have enjoyed the film and for those of you who may not know I have already seen the film four times. Each time I have discovered something new that I may have missed when I saw it for the first time,” the mega star said in a video.
But this is not the first time that a Bachchan movie, who is the second superstar of the Bollywood after Rajesh Khanna, is doing a roaring business. In the past, his movies used to be rage.
The Year 1978 – Don, Kasme Vaade, Trishul, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Ganga Ki Saugandh – 5 blockbusters all ran for almost 50 weeks. It was phenomenal! He had delivered four commercial successes in a row in just one month i.e. October 1978. These superhits were ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikander,’ ‘Kasme Vaade,’ ‘Don’ and ‘Trishul.
With a cinematic career spanning over five decades, Bachchan has played pivotal roles in over 200 films winning six national awards and 16 filmfare awards. Remember he is 81 years of age.
