The uttarakhand Police on Friday arrested man from Jharkhand for allegedly making objectionable video clips of women by placing a mobile phone in the toilet of a restaurant in Dehradun.
The police on Thursday night received a complaint from a woman that a video was being recorded by hiding a mobile phone in the toilet of a restaurant situated on Chakrata Road in Dehradun city.
When the police arrived, some women present in the restaurant alleged that they themselves saw the mobile phone in the toilet, but when the restaurant operator went to the toilet to check it on their complaint, the mobile was found missing from there.
Sensing the seriousness of the matter, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun Ajai Singh immediately directed the police to register a case against the restaurant operator and others under relevant sections.
During the interrogation, the police rounded up an employee of the restaurant on suspicison. When he was interrogated rigorously, he confessed his crime.
Police said that the arrested person has been identified as Vinod Mandal who is a resident of Manihari area of Dhanbad district of Jharkhand.
The police took the mobile phone from the possession of the accused and sent it to the forensic lab for further action.
