Senior Journalist Jaskiran Chopra passed away on Thursday night following a heart attack in Dehradun.

After suffering the heart attack, Chopra was rushed to Max Hospital where doctors could not save her life.

Chopra was presently working in the Dehradun’s edition of Pioneer. Before this, she had worked in United News of India (UNI) in New Delhi and Dehradun and Times of India (TOI) in Dehradun.

She also penned several books like Autumn Raga and Memories of Another Day. she used to write poetry also. She was active on the social media and used to take journalism classes in various educational institutes.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his deep grief over the death of Chopra.  He prayed to the God to provide peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members to bear the loss.

Former top bureaucrat Sanjeev Chopra in his comment said Jaskiran was a bilingual poet, writer, critic, journalist and academic – all rolled into one with a tremendous fan base in her beloved city of Doon.
