A big controversy erupted at Paris Olympics on Thursday after Angela Carini (Italy) left her boxing bout in just 46 seconds against Algeria’s Imane Khalif who had failed a gender test last year.

Carini, who was left in tears, claimed she was hit very hard on her nose by Khalif.  Khalif was later declared the winner.

Khelif, who claims to be a woman, previously failed a gender test after being found to have male chromosomes.

“I have never been hit so hard in my life,” said a distraught Carini, who suffered a suspected broken nose.

The controversy has led to massive backlash on social media with top celebrities like Elon Musk and Martina Navratilova slamming the Paris Olympics authorities.

“Could any picture sum up our new men’s rights movement better? The smirk of a male who’s knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head, and whose life’s ambition he’s just shattered,” British author J K Rowling wrote on the X.

“This is an assault by a male on a female boxer. It’s a crime,” wrote Paul A Szypula on X.
