Innovations, value-addition, risk-taking ability and needs of the consumers are some of the key factors for the healthy growth of a business start-up, experts said on Sunday.

In his keynote address at an entrepreneurship training program organized under the aegis of Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Development Scheme at Govt Post Graduate College, Maldevata Raipur, Prof H C Purohit of the Doon University, while elaborating on the important tricks of the trade, said starting any enterprise or startup depends on the risk-taking ability of the entrepreneur and its success depends on the way the enterprise is run by that entrepreneur.

He said innovations and value addition are necessary for the success of the enterprise. Many times there is a doubt or question in the mind of the entrepreneur that a lot of efforts will have to be made to achieve success, but It is not like that. “We can be successful by continuously adding value to the goods manufactured by our business or enterprise even if it is through small improvements. “It is necessary that our thoughts and experiments be combined with innovation because today the market is of global competition, hence it will be possible to survive in this competitive era only by providing goods and services keeping in mind the needs of the consumers”, Prof Prohit said.

Citing many interesting anecdotes, Prof Prohit said many businessmen successfully established and operated their enterprises at a time when the environment was not positive. “But today the situation has changed a lot, the government is providing a lot of support for setting up new industries and startups. The youth are being continuously motivated through various training programs. As a result, nearly 1.25 lakh startups have been developed which are running successfully in a very short time in the country. Lakhs of youths have got employment in these startups, he said.
