Despite losing 2.5 days in rains and a wet outfield, India pulled off an astonishing victory thrashing Bangladesh by seven wickets.

With this, India cemented its position on top of the 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle after a 2-0 Test series clean sweep over Bangladesh.

After bowling out Bangladesh for 146 runs in the second innings, India chased the target of 95 runs with Rishabh Pant hitting a four to reach the target. Jaiswal provided valuable 51 runs before being caught by Shakib Hasan on the bowling of Taijul Islam.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumbrah, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja shared three wickets each to bowl out Bangladesh for a paltry score of 146 runs in the second innings. From Bangladesh side, Shadman Islam scored the highest 50 runs.

This victory means that India is on right track to play their third consecutive ICC world Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final at the Lord’s in London though there are still 8 Test matches remaining in the cycle. Australia is presently at the second spot. There are likely chances that India may meet Australia in the final.
