Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested an imposter for duping gullible youths of lakhs of rupees under the pretext of providing jobs in the army.

Acting on the information shared by the Army Intelligence and an FIR lodged by a victim, Pramod Kumar alias Vasu was arrested from Chandramani Road in Dehradun late Monday night, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) STF Navneet Singh Bhullar.

Posing as an army officer, Vasu a resident of Nukkad area of ​​Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh used to dupe youths under the pretext of providing them jobs in the army.

Bhullar said that on receiving the information, the STF team collected information about the youths who were cheated. During investigations, it was found that Vasu, who was currently living in Patel Nagar area of Dehradun, had told them that he is an army officer and can get jobs like driver in the army.

Acting swiftly, the police arrested Vasu and recovered a fake army identity card, an army uniform, other army related clothes and a mobile phone.
