A fire broke out in the second floor of the Uttarkahand Vidhan Sabha building near Rispana Bridge in Dehradun on Friday.
The fire which was seen in a room located on the second floor above the building was brought under control by two fire brigade vehicles. Some curtains and doors of the room, which was an office, were burnt and other material kept in the office was partially damaged.
Prima facie, the fire appeared to have been caused by a short circuit, police said.
On receiving information about the fire incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun Ajai Singh rushed to the Vidhan Sabha and directed the police officials for a detailed investigation.
