Bollywood producer Mansi Bagla and her husband Varun Bagla are in news these days for the wrong reasons.
An FIR has been filed in a Dehradun police station by Arushi Nishank, daughter of former Uttarakhand chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank against the couple for allegedly duping Rs 4 crore in the name of making a new movie.
Arushi in her complaint alleged that she entered into a MoU with the couple’s Mini company for the production of new venture “Ankhon Ki Gustakhian” starring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor on Oct 9 last year. Thereafter, she transferred Rs four crore in installments to the couple. Arushi said she was also assured of a desirable role in the new movie.
But after sometime, Arushi said she was informed that she has been replaced by someone else in the movie. Suspecting fraud, Arushi demanded her money back but she was allegedly threatened by the couple of dire consequences.
“We have registered a case in Dehradun and started investigations. We will record the statements and proceed further in the case,” a top police official said.
