Top seed Jannik Sinner continued his superb form as he outclassed the tennis legend Novak Djokovic 7-6 6-3 to win the Shanghai Masters tournament on Sunday.

With this, Djokovic’s dream of winning his 100th ATP tournament was shattered with Sinner becoming the first player to equal Rafael Nadal’s winning streak against the Serb in 2013 registering three successive wins including the famous semi-final victory in the Australian Open this year.

After the tight first set that went into tie-break in Shanghai Masters, Sinner showed why he is no 1 in the second set and roared past the 24 grand slam winner with ease winning it 6-3.

After winning gold medal at Paris Olympics in August, Djokovic was defeated in the third round at the US Open. This was the first time after Paris Olympics that the Serb great had entered a final match. In Wimbledon also, Djokovic was defeated by Carlos Alcrazv in straight sets. However, Djokovic managed to beat Alcraz in the Paris Olympics final in straight sets.
