Dhami vows to continue drive against corruption, anti-encroachment

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who is completing three years in office tomorrow, on Saturday said his government’s drive against corruption, encroachment and illegal madarsas would continue in the hill state.

Stating that he faced many challenging tasks during the past three years, the CM said Uttarakhand is progressing well under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Certainly this decade belongs to Uttarakhand,” he said.

Interacting with journalists in Dehradun, he counted the achievements of his government and also shared its priorities.

The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is working with full capability to play its stellar role in the development of India.

Referring to laws like UCC, land law, anti-copying act, the Chief Minister said his government does not believe putting important issues on the back burner. Therefore, decisions have been taken on major issues.

He said that concrete steps have been taken for the welfare of women by implementing schemes like Lakhpati Didi and providing 30 percent reservation for women. A provision of ten percent horizontal reservation has been made for the statehood activists.

In terms of per capita income, Uttarakhand was placed at 13th spot, he said. Be it the Global Investors Summit or the organization of G-20 meetings, Uttarakhand has got long-term benefits from these events. He said investment MoU worth Rs 3.55 lakh crore were signed at the global investors summit held in Dehradun in 2023.

He said that the annual budget of the state crossing Rs one lakh crore in the silver jubilee year shows that despite the challenges, the government was moving on the right path.

The Chief Minister also said the government was also preparing for holding Kumbh in the year 2027 and Nanda Raj Jat yatra. He also mentioned the achievement of his government for successfully organizing the National Games. He said that the Prime Minister made an unprecedented contribution to tourism development by visiting many places in the state especially during the winter.
