CS Raturi for speeding up construction works at Kedarnath

Construction works to be completed before May 10

Ahead of the reopening of the portals on May 10, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi on Monday flew to Kedarnath to review reconstruction works.

“We have given instructions that the reconstruction works which are required to be completed before May 10 should be completed in time and these works should not cause any inconvenience to pilgrims,” Raturi said after inspected the on-going construction works like Astha Path, Guest House, Mandakini-Saraswati Ghat, museum, Kedarnath Temple Complex and hospitals. Raturi said lots of new facilities for pilgrims are being provided at Keadarnath

While inspecting the buildings being constructed in front of the Kedarnath Temple complex, she asked the concerned agencies and the District Magistrate Rudraprayag  Saurabh Gaharwar to speed up the work. She also heard the problems being faced in the construction process. The District Magistrate was instructed to speed up the construction works by using more resources and rapidly complete the work of the corridor from Gol Chabutra to the temple complex.

Reviewing the work on the rain shelter, ghats of Mandakini and Saraswati rivers, she saw the arrangements and various facilities provided in the entire area. She also instructed all the officers and related agencies to take full care of the quality by taking information about the materials being used in the construction work. She also lauded the construction agencies for doing good job in difficult circumstances.

Talking to the workers engaged in construction works, she inquired about their well-being and gave instructions to the concerned officials to take special care of them and provide them facilities.
