Boy injured in leopard attack in Dehradun

A 12 year old boy was injured after he was attacked by a leopard at Canal Road area in Dehradun on Sunday evening, police said.

This is the second leopard attack in these areas within a fortnight.

SSP Dehradun Ajai Singh has asked the police to increase the patrolling in the area following the attack.

According to police, Nikhil (12) was attacked by the leopard at Chironwali Khala in Canal Road area this evening. The boy cried loudly when he was attacked. However, leopard ran away leaving the boy injured.

Nikhil, who received head injuries, was later rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.

Few days ago, a four year old child was killed by a leopard in the nearby Singhli village. After the attacks, people are feeling very scared in these areas.

The SSP said the people have been asked to remain alert following the leopard attacks.
