After killing a gangster who along with four other associates had robbed a jewelry shop in Haridwar recently, DGP Abhinav Kumar has tried to send a loud and clear message: “Bandook ka jawab hum goli se denge” (We will spray bullets if you show us guns)
Satinder Pal Singh alias Lucky (32) was killed and his two accomplices were nabbed following a shootout with the Uttarakhand police on Sunday night at Bhadrabad area in Haridwar. These gangsters allegedly looted jewelry worth Rs 5 crore from Balalji Jewelers on September 1 in Haridwar at gunpoint. Lucky, a wanted criminal, was working for the notorious “Karate Gang” in Punjab. Two other gangsters involved in the crime are still at large.
“Bandook ka jawab goli se denge (We will spray bullets if you show us guns),” said the DGP in a terse voice.
Kumar made it clear that the gangsters and their patrons should not think that they will get away after committing crimes in Uttarakhand just because it is a devbhoomi (abode of gods). “For them our police will be like a kaal (death),” Kumar warned.
DGP also announced a special award of Rs one lakh to all those policemen who killed the gangster and nabbed the other two sending a strong message to the state police that their good work against crime will be rewarded. “We will try our best to reward these policemen,” Kumar said.
The DGP said jewelry worth Rs 25 lakh has been recovered from the killed gangster. A substantial amount of Rs 15 lakh has also been recovered from other two gangsters, who were nabbed.
Kumar made it clear that the police would soon nab the other two criminals, who were involved in the crime.
