China, Japan, and South Korea, three key Asian economic giants, have managed to win more gold medals than silvers in the Paris Olympics that helped them to improve their positions considerably in the medal tally.
On the other hand, US, France and Great Britain have won more silver medals than gold ones. Nevertheless, US remained on the top of the medal tally winning 33 gold medals and 39 silvers at the end of day 14 on Friday in the Paris Olympics despite winning one more bronze.
China was closely following US as it continued on the second position bagging 33 gold medals and 27 silvers and Australia was on third place with 18 gold medals.
Japan with 16 gold medals and 8 silvers jumped to fourth position pushing the hosts France to sixth (14 gold and 20 silver). Great Britain is now on fifth position with 14 gold medals and 20 silvers.
After a gap of just one day, India again came down to 69th position despite winning one more bronze in wrestling.
Pakistan too pushed down to 59th position as it failed to win more medals.
