Opening up on the Ambani-Adani issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said he fully supports wealth creators in the country.

“Our wealth creators are the country’s pride. They must be respected and it is our commitment to provide them the right environment to flourish,” Modi wrote on X as he posted a video of his interview to a TV channel.

Interestingly, responding to the allegations in the past that his government was promoting crony capitalism by favouring the two top industrialists, Modi at the May 8 Tilangana rally, had targeted Rahul Gandhi for stopping “abusing” Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. Congress had hit back at Modi saying Rahul Gandhi’s relentless attacks on Ambani-Adani combine have finally forced the Prime Minister to acknowledge the issue of corruption.

“I don’t get ashamed and speak from the Red Fort that the wealth creators must get respect in this country,” Modi said. “Why shouldn’t we have multinational companies in our country? Why shouldn’t we have shops of our multinational companies in the world,” Modi asked.

“Yes, if there is some dishonesty then hanging is the punishment. But I always respect the wealth creators in our country,” Modi said.

Modi also said late Jawaharlal Nehru also used to face same kind of allegations about his government’s closeness with the Tata-Birla groups.

“They (Rahul Gandhi) brought Rafale (issue) just to overshadow the blunders of the Bofors gun deal,” the Prime Minister said. He also claimed that Rahul Gandhi fears that if he gets the third term then his image would become bigger than the Nehru-Indira-Rajiv combine.

  1. Very fitting reply has been given by Mr Modi for wealth creation. Opposition parties have single point agenda to dethrone Mr Modi. They are bringing baseless allegations and promoting themselves as Masiah for poor people. Indira Gandhi brought slow gun Garibi Hatao. What is the result of that.
I have witnessed CPM rule in West Bengal. They brought industry to halt. All unions were demanding everything except work to be done.
Anybody can see how much employment is created by Reliance just visiting their stores.
Why Opposition parties are not after MNCs. Because they receive funds from them.
Let 4th June come all will come to know who is right.
