After Vasundhra Raje, it’s Meenakshi Lekhi now

BJP drops Meenakshi Lekhi

PrashantNews

After Vasundhra Raje’s ouster, BJP on Saturday sprang a surprise when it dropped Union Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi from the first list of party candidates for the coming Lok Sabha elections.

In place of Lekhi, BJP decided to field Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj from New Delhi LS seat.

Recently, Vasundhara Raje, most popular face of the BJP in Rajastahan, lost race for the job of chief minister to Bhajan Lal Sharma, a low profile BJP leader, who was party’s general secretary.

“We are totally surprised as both Lekhi and Raje were very popular in the BJP as well as among the people,” said a BJP leader.
