Ahead of the election for the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Uttarakhand on Feb 27, BJP national spokesman Anil Baluni on Wednesday met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM’s residence in Dehradun.
The meeting assumes significance as Baluni, who is considered very close to the top party central leadership, is likely to be nominated for the second time for the seat, BJP sources said. Besides Baluni, BJP state leader Suresh Joshi’s name is also doing the round for the seat which has fallen vacant after the completion of six year tenure of Baluni. “Baluni ji is from Garhwal. I think the top BJP leader must consider Joshi’s name this time as he is from Kumaon region,” a state BJP leader said.
Sharing the pictures of his meeting with the Chief Minister on the social media, Baluni said he has had discussions on different political issues. “The energetic Chief Minister is resolute to create a hat-trick (for the BJP) in the next (Lok Sabha) elections,” Baluni said.
