The Uttarakhand government has granted permission for the landing of the helicopter of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, who is going to address a rally in Dehradun on Sunday.
The controversy arose after state Congress President Karan Mahra along with his supporters on Saturday night staged a dharna at the police headquarters alleging that Jharge was denied permission to land his helicopter in the policelines areas of Dehradun.
“The (Uttrakhand) government has not given permission for (Kharge’s) helicopter to land at (policelines in Dehradun),” Uttarakhand Congress said in a tweet. Congress further claimed that the BJP is scared because it feared that the people are going to teach it a lesson.
At the police headquarters in Dehradun, leader of the opposition Yashpal Arya and state vice president Suryakant Dhasmana also participated in the dharna.
The controversy has been resolved after the government granted the necessary permission for the helicopter of Kharge to land in Dehradun, Arya told reporters.
Meanwhile, Mahra alleged that SSP Ajai Singh showed disrespect to Arya. “We will raise this issue in the state assembly,” Arya said. “This is totally discourteous. LOP is also called shadow chief minister,” Arya said.
Congress said the government deliberately did not allow the helicopter to land at policelines in Dehradun.
