SAfrica-India test series: Records tumble on day one in second test

Twenty three wickets and several records fell on Wednesday on the first day of the second test between South Africa and India at Cape Town which took dramatic turns couple of times. South Africa is leading the series 1-0.
After winning the toss, Proteas could score only 55 runs, their lowest against India, in the first innings with Mohd Siraj taking a career best 6-15. India was doing well in reply with score at 153 for four before all the remaining six wickets fell for duck. Rohit Sharma (39), Virat Kohli (46) and Shubman Gill (36) managed to restore some semblance to the Indian innings. This was the first time that a team in a test match lost its last six wickets without scoring a single run.
The first two innings lasted only 349 balls which was the second fewest in test history. Before that, the first two innings of Australia and England had lasted only 287 balls in 1902.
In the second innings, South Africa was 62 for three and trailing by 36 runs at the close of the day.
