After a woman was burnt alive in a car last Sunday in Jyotirmath in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, her brother’s body was recovered at a nearby area on Thursday, police said.
The charred body of Shweta Padma Senapati was found in a car that was probably set on fire at Chachari village near Jyotirmath, also known as Joshimath.
Preliminary police investigations found that Senapati was living with her brother Sunil Senapati in Jyotirmath for a long time. But Padma’s brother was untraceable that had raised suspicion.
And today, the body of Sunil Senapati was recovered from Tapovan area near Jyotirmath that brought a new twist in what appeared to be an alleged double murder mystery.
The body of Sunil Senapati was recovered after police pressed dog squads to look for him near Chachari village where the burnt car was found on Sunday.
Police investigations have also revealed that both brother and sister used to live in Bangaluru where they often borrow money from their relatives.
Meanwhile, the body of Senapati has been sent for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
