Mercedes car involved in hit & run case found

The Mercedes car involved in the hit and run case in Dehradun where four people from Uttar Pradesh were killed and two injured last night was found parked at Sahastradhara Road in the city on Thursday morning.

The front side of the car bearing a Chandigarh registration number was damaged and it was parked at an empty plot in Sahastradhara Road area.

However, the driver of the car is still not traceable. A manhunt has been launched to nab the driver with police teams going to Chandigarh in this regard. A police team has also reached Delhi as the vehicle was purchased from the national capital, police said.

After hitting the pedestrians, the car sped away from the scene of the accident. All the six were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals where the four were declared brought dead.
The four victims who lost their lives have been identified Mansharam (30) and Ranjit (35) from Ayodhya, Balkaran (40) from Barabanki and Durgesh from Faizabad. All the four were working as labourers in Dehradun.
“Our police teams are searching all the possible areas to nab the driver,” SSP Dehradun Ajai Singh said.
