Karnataka continued to be on the top of the medal tally in the 38th National Games by winning 53 medals with28 gold even as the hosts Uttarakhand improved its position to 15th place.
Karnataka bagged a couple of gold medals in swimming events in Haldwani on Tuesday taking the gold tally to 28.
Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) comprising Army, Air Force and Navy, was remained in second place winning 40 medals including 21 gold.
Maharashtra continued to be at third position despite winning the most 76 medals including 16 gold.
Tamil Nadu moved to fourth place bagging 43 medals with 11 gold.
Manipur moved further down to fifth place winning 26 medals including 11 gold. Till Sunday, Manipur was on the top of the medal tally.
The hosts Uttarakhand improved its position to 15th place winning 26 medals as it won two more gold medals. Uttarakhand has so far won three gold medals. Uttarakhand won silver medal in badminton men’s singles category.
