Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) comprising Army, Air Force and Navy, continued to excel winning 33 medals including 17 gold in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand so far.
Karnataka stood at second place winning 33 medals including 15 gold. Maharashtra was at third position with 52 medals including 13 gold.
After initial dazzling performance, Manipur moved down to fourth place. Till Sunday, Manipur was on the top of the medal tally.
The hosts Uttarakhand were a bit unlucky standing at 19th position despite winning 16 medals including one gold. “Our children especially in weightlifting are new. But we must appreciate that our children are very playing very well despite having least resources,” said Amit Sinha, CEO National Games and Special Sports Secretary Uttarakhand.
