Eminent scientist L C Mangal has been appointed as the Director General of Technology Management (TM) at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) headquarters in Delhi.
Before assuming the new role, Mangal served as the Director of the Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory (DEAL) in Dehradun.
He has contributed significantly to projects of national importance, including satellite communication and Software-Defined Radio (SDR). For his exceptional work in the field of defence research, he has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Agni Award and the IEEE ‘Technologist of the Year’ award for 2024.
As Director General, DRDO has entrusted him with the responsibility of creating a research ecosystem in collaboration with educational institutions, research organizations, and industry partners to meet the scientific and technological needs of defence and national security.
Mangal hails from Rajasthan and had been serving at DEAL Dehradun for the past 36 years. His achievement has brought joy to both his workplace in Dehradun and his birthplace, Sawai Madhopur.
