Rains likely in parts of Uttarakhand, some other areas in north India

After a long dry spell, light rainfall is expected in Uttarakhand and other parts of the northern India in the next few days in view of two western disturbances (WDs) even as isolated areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and adjoining POK experienced scattered rains.

Isolated light rainfall/snowfall activity may take place over western Himalayan region from Feb 3 to Feb 5, the IMD said on Sunday.  “Under the influence of the second WD, scattered to light rainfall/snowfall activity is likely to occur over Western Himalayan region on Feb 4 and Feb 5,” the IMD said.

Meanwhile, dense fog conditions were reported in parts of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Parts of Anantnag and Bhaderwah districts of Jammu and Kashmir recorded light rainfall during the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the max temperature has also shot up in the plains which is 4-5 degree more than the normal. “It may shot up further tomorrow,” said Met Director Bikram Singh.
