3.5 crore saints, devotees take holy dip first day at Mahakumbh: Yogi

On the first Amrit Snan festival on Monday, more than 3.50 crore revered saints and pilgrims took the holy dip in the uninterrupted-pure Triveni in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday.

Amid multilayer security system, a sea of humanity gathered at Prayagraj to take the bath in the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati on the occasion of Makar Sakranti.

“Hearty congratulations to all the revered saints, Kalpvasis and devotees who took a holy dip of faith in the holy Sangam on the auspicious occasion of holy ‘Makar Sankranti’ in the grand gathering of faith, equality and unity ‘Mahakumbh-2025, Prayagraj’!,” Yogi wrote on X.

On the successful completion of the first Amrit Snan festival, the Chief Minister thanked to all the revered Akharas, Mahakumbh Mela administration, local administration, police administration, sanitation workers, voluntary organizations and religious institutions, boatmen and all the departments of the Central and State Government associated with Mahakumbh and congratulated to the people.

“May the virtues bear fruit, let Mahakumbh go on,” the Chief Minister said.
