All necessary arrangements have been made by the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the hill state during the winter season and the forthcoming National Games, a top company official said on Saturday.
Besides this, the UPCL is also gearing up to provide uninterrupted power supply for the 38th National Games to be held early next year in the state, the official said.
For the successful conduct of the National Games from January 28 to February 14 2025, nodal officers have been nominated in the concerned districts to ensure smooth power supply in the places where the games will be held.
The UPCL has been nominated as a member of the coordination committee, constituted for organizing the National Games. Chief Engineer-Distribution, Garhwal Region, N S Bisht has been nominated for Dehradun and Haridwar region while Chief Engineer-Distribution, Rudrapur Region Narendra Singh Tolia for Kumaon region under the supervision of M.R. Arya, Director-Operation, UPCL .
In compliance with the instructions given by the Managing Director, UPCL Anil Yadav for uninterrupted power supply during the sports event, Arya along with Bisht and other concerned officers on Saturday inspected Maharana Pratap Sports Complex in Raipur area of Dehradun to ensure timely completion of the UPCL works.
“Apart from this, all necessary arrangements have been made by UPCL to supply uninterrupted power to its consumers during the winter season,” the official added.
